On Thursday, March 5th, Town and Country School will host a blood drive in partnership with Our Blood Institute. The drive will take place in the school auditorium from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Blood has no substitute and is needed every two seconds to treat and improve a number of serious health conditions, including:
• Cancer treatments
• Blood loss during childbirth
• Trauma-related injuries
• Premature birth complications
• Blood disorders
• Surgical complications
In Oklahoma, more blood is used than is donated locally. As a result, blood products often must be brought in from surrounding states. By donating, you are directly helping provide life-saving care to patients in our own community.
To be eligible to donate, you must:
• Be at least 16 years old (signed parent/guardian permission required for anyone under 18)
• Weigh at least 125 lbs (if 16 or 17 years old) or 110 lbs (if 18 or older)
• Eat a healthy meal and drink plenty of fluids before and after donating
• Get a good night’s sleep the night before
• Present a valid photo ID
All donors will receive a snack, a beverage, and a T-shirt after donating.
Parent/guardian permission forms are available in the nurse’s office and Ms. Forehand’s office.
Please use the links provided in this email to sign up, or scan the QR code on the flyers posted around the school.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life.
