The Demand Project (TDP) believes in educating, equipping, and empowering the community on how to stay safe against online predators, child traffickers/buyers, and anyone that seeks to exploit children for commercial and personal gain.
One of the ways we are helping TDP this month is gathering donations for their Mount Arukah campus. The Mount Arukah campus is one of the largest residential campuses in the United States for girls aged 11-17 who have survived human trafficking. The Mount Arukah campus is a purposefully situated sanctuary comprising nine buildings. Five houses offer dorm-style living for up to 30 girls, while the dining hall doubles as the Empower Academy online-alternative school. Additionally, the Mount Arukah campus hosts the Bethany Campus Clinic and Advocacy Center, life skills training facilities, and Central Park - a space for therapeutic recreational activities. Each house is overseen by a dedicated House Guardian, while the Leadership Home serves as a hub for the Executive Team's operations.
The Mount Arukah campus is in need of the following:
- Clothing: Coats, gloves, scarves, socks, & slippers.
- Program Supplies: Journals, coloring books, art supplies, & educational materials.
- Personal Care: Chapstick, lotion, feminine hygiene products, shampoo, conditioner.
- Household: Blankets, hand warmers, disinfectant wipes, laundry detergent, & dryer sheets.
- Recreational Supplies: Sports equipment (soccer balls, frisbees), outdoor games, and seeds for gardening projects.
- Food: Non-perishable snacks, tea, & hot chocolate packets.
Items are due by Friday, February 27th and they can be turned into the 8 Habits shelf across from Ms. Laub’s desk.
Thank you!
