Lower School Parent Teacher League (PTL)

The PTL is a league of parents and teachers at Town and Country School. As Town and Country parents, we are here because we have children who learn differently. The PTL’s goal is to foster a nurturing and caring environment that strives for continued parent involvement in helping build a better educational setting for our kids. We also promote a community where the teachers and administration can do their best work with the resources we can help provide. Through our membership and fundraising efforts, the PTL provides educational materials and equipment for the school, as well as improvements to the facility. We sponsor field trips, outside educational programs, and other fun opportunities that come up during the year.

We encourage you to support the Lower School PTL by attending meetings and becoming involved. Parents are required to volunteer a minimum of 18 hours a year. You will be responsible for keeping track of those hours and turning them into Ms. Taylor at ctaylor@tandcschool.org. If you Chair an event or are a Homeroom Parent, your volunteer hours are fulfilled for the year!

You are now among the best resources available in Tulsa- our very own staff and family community!

Hospitality: This individual partners with the Upper School to plan monthly birthday treats for the staff, helps plan the staff holiday luncheon in Dec. and the Teacher Appreciation activities and luncheon in May and organizes hospitality for Open House in Oct. and Feb.  Kristin Makhani (Rainforest Parent)

Homeroom Parents:
Each class needs to have at least one homeroom parent. Job responsibilities include organizing classroom parties with the teacher and any other events during the year, assisting Hospitality chairpersons with the Teacher Holiday Luncheon and Teacher Appreciation Week.

Box Tops 4 Education: We make money every year through this well-known program. This Chairperson collects, organizes and mails in all the box tops submitted by our staff and students- and watches everyone smile when the check arrives in the mail! Boxtops4education.com is the site for all things box top including tips for contests and fun activities. Chele Mickle is the chairperson (Outback)

Scholastic Book Fair: Fundraiser for the Lower School during the week of September 14th-18th. This is a terrific way to buy great books for your kids, gifts for others, and also help support the school. The Family Event will be Sept. 15th before our first PTL meeting of the year. Volunteer opportunities include helping set up and working different shifts during fair hours. Take down will be Friday after the fair closes. Kandice Perry is the Chairperson for this event. (Desert)

Grandparents Day:  Oct. 28th   (early dismissal day)  Grandparents, come spend the morning  in class with your grandchild.  They would love to show-off all their hard work and introduce you to their classmates.  We will have a reception and stay for lunch. We will make this day very special for you!

Holiday Wreath Sales:  Fall Fundraiser sponsored by the Lower School PTL.  Place orders for these beautiful fresh wreaths and trees that can be enjoyed during the holiday season or given as gifts to family and friends.  Orders will be taken during October.  Wreaths are delivered shortly after Thanksgiving.  Volunteers are needed to help unload wreaths when they are delivered, sort them, and help distribute them.  Jan Lamberton Chairperson for this fundraiser. (Mountain Range)

Spaghetti/Giant Games Night: Friday, Nov. 4th.  Fundraiser. A fun time for the whole family. Kids can enjoy many giant game centers and activities in a safe and kid-friendly environment. This event will include a spaghetti dinner!  We need individuals to help decorate the day of the event, clean-up afterwards, and supervise food, games and activities. Kara Howse will chair this event (Mountain Range) and  Melody Moore (Tropical Island)

Donated Items will be given to teachers during the last week of school before winter break. Kyla Lussier Tandy (Desert) is the chairperson for this event.

Holiday Teacher Luncheon: This is a holiday luncheon for teachers and staff which will be held this year on Dec. 8th. Homeroom parents work with the Hospitality Chair to coordinate the luncheon. Parents volunteer to bring food.

Dessert Auction & Bingo Night:  Fundraiser.  This is another super fun night for the entire family which will be held March 5th 6-8pm in the Cafeteria. If you love desserts and bingo this is for YOU! Jog-A-Thon: This is our last fundraiser of the year. It will be held April 22nd. This is another easy event to organize! Donation forms will be sent home in advance for running laps.
